About Edee Lemonier
I am a former elementary school teacher with a Master in Education, with a double emphasis in Reading/Literacy and ELL. This means I am a detail-oriented, meticulous word nerd who can gently guide anyone.
I started my career in editing when I met Mike Shepherd after school (I taught his granddaughter). That was over a decade ago, and I’ve been copy editing his books ever since. A few years back I decided to hang my shingle and offer copy editing and proofreading as a service to others. I took the online course at Proofread Anywhere to shore up my skills, and for the last two years have been successfully proofreading and editing full-length manuscripts.
Being part of an incredible critique group for five years in Portland, Oregon (The Pinewood Table) has given me the chops to coach other writers through their own work. I know how to take constructive feedback and how to give it.
Forest Avenue Press gave me an opportunity to be a selection committee member. I know what publishers are looking for, and I learned how to tell within the first fifty pages what works and what doesn’t.
I am forever grateful for those experiences, and I look forward to passing to other writers the knowledge I’ve gained.
